Debra MackiCosmetics is the official
makeup line of Miss Massachusettes USA, Miss Massachusettes Teen USA, Miss
Vermont USA, and Miss Vermont Teen USA. (to the left is a picture of Miss
Massachusettes Teen USA 1999, wearing Debra Macki cosmetics). The cosmetics
are designed by Boston based makeup artist Debra Macki. This month, I am
reviewing two of her products: eye shadow and
cyberdust.
Debra Macki Eye Shadow: The two colors I reviewed
are "Totally Naked" (a subtle banana-peach color) and "Tinsle Town" (a rich,
smoky grey). Tinsle Town has very tiny particles of glitter, which only show
up when the light hits your eyelid just right. Perfect for the girl
who wants to try glittery eye colors without looking too made up. I did notice
that when I applied it with my brush, a few flakes of color ended up under
my eyes - so make sure to put a tissue on your cheek while you are applying
the shadow (I only had this problem with Tinsle Town, not Totally Naked).
The color stayed on my lids all day, even though I splashed my face with
water at one point. When it was the end of the day, it wasn't stubborn and
came right off with my cleanser. Totally Naked is very subtle and brightens
up your eyes a bit when you you smudge some all around your eye.
Debra Macki Cyberdust: The cyberdust are shown in 3 colors in this
picture (the three colors I reviewed): "Champagne Bubbles," "Tiara," and
"Ice Princess." Champagne Bubbles (upper left of picture) has a slight
golden color. Tiara (middle of second row of picture) has a slight pink color.
Ice Princess (upper right of picture) is pure white. All of these have a
major shimmer factor! The pots are only about 1.5" (about 3.5cm) but
a little dab will go very far - trust us! Be careful when opening
up the pot, if there is some dust in on the sides of the lid it can get on
your hands. This dust can also be used to add some shimmer to your
shoulders. This stuff stays on ALL DAY!
