Girly Nation: Are there any questions that
you hate being asked?
Jesse: ::Laughs:: No, not really. I still appreciate all of
them.
Girly Nation: In your present boy band,
there's usually a member with a distinguishable characteristic such as, "The
Big Brother," "The Rebel," "The Shy One," etc. does Dream Street follow those
so-called "Boy band rules"?
Jesse: I think so. Me being the youngest, I think that I'm like, the
baby of the group, I'm like, the little brother of the group. I think Frankie
being the oldest is like, the "Big Bro" of the group. Greg is like...Mr.
Personality. Matt is like, Mr. Hilarious, and Chris is like the Ladies
Man.
Girly Nation: Lately, Dream Street has been
everywhere! Do you think that you have matured faster than a typical guy
your age because of your career?
Jesse: Well, I think that a lot of fourteen year olds aren't doing
what I'm doing right now. I used to play baseball last year, I was pitcher
on JV, and I was playing with all my friends and stuff and I still do both,
but I think that fourteen year old does not usually have a professional life,
so I think I guess, kind of in a way
Girly Nation: What the next single coming
off your album?
Jesse: We're not really sure, but we think it might be I Say Yeah,
which should be released in October.
Girly Nation: You all have great style!
Are there stylists that pick out your clothes for you?
Jesse: Well, when we do a photo shoot, yeah, we have a stylist that
comes in, who is usually different every time but yeah, it's cool because
we kind of let them [choose]. They've seen other photo shoots and they see
our personal style, and they come in and bring our clothes and usually we
love everything that they bring in.
Girly Nation: Are you having a good hair
day today?
Jesse: Today? No, actually, I just woke up. I just came back from
California and I'm
still getting used to the time
change.
Girly Nation: How do the fans on the west
coast compare to those on the east coast?
Jesse: I think the fans on the west coast are more laid back and easy
going, and way cool. The fans on the east coast like...freakin' nuts, they're
like crazy. I love the west coast. I love being in
California.
Girly Nation: Did you have time to do any
sightseeing while you were in California?
Jesse: Well, the boys, the five of us, we're not into sightseeing,
we just want to go on rides and stuff. We went by the golden gate, and saw
that. We went down the windiest road...what's that called...well, you know
what I'm talking about!
Girly Nation: I hear you like BBMak! Are
we going to see Dream Street play unplugged, similar to how BBMak plays
live?
Jesse: I don't know, hopefully. I think BBMak is a great group. And
I'd love to do something like that.
Girly Nation: Have there been any wild fan
interactions yet?
Jesse: Yeah, we've had a few of those. We've had a few clothes ripped
off our backs, and fans jumping up on our autograph table. We've had of those
crazy fans, whacked up incidents.
Girly Nation: Being the youngest member
of the group, are you often picked on by the other guys?
Jesse: Yeah, all the time, but we just play around with each other
I'm about the same size as all of them, so I can probably kick their butts,
haha, no just kidding.
Girly Nation: This coming school year, are
you planning on attending a normal high school, or will your schedule be
so demanding that you have to study with a tutor?
Jesse: We don't really know yet. Right now, we will be attending our
high schools. I will, and the other boys will. If we get too busy, which
we might, in September, since it's really booked with everything, we're doing
a tour with HealthSouth. We might need to get tutors. But so far, we're still
going to remain in public school.
Girly Nation: How have you changed since
the beginning of Dream Street in May of 1999?
Jesse: For one, my voice changed.... I could hit high C, not it's
the way low C, HAHA, I think the group has gone together as a whole. 3 years
ago, we were just practicing a couple of our songs, and kind of learning
the dance steps. Not all of us were dancers, I think the only professional
dancer was Chris; he was the only one with formal dance training. I've come
along way with my dancing. I think that the whole group, we just know each
so well now, that we have come a long way
Girly Nation: Now that you have stabilized
a very good name for yourselves, are you finding it hard to do normal teenage
activities like...going to the mall, or going to movies?
Jesse: You know, sometimes yes, I mean, it's going to get worse, but
we love that, we love walking down the mall and it's just like "Yo" but that's
a great feeling when you're just chillin' at the mall and the people are
just like "I know you" and "what's up".
Girly Nation: Is there anything you particularly
request, like a food item, in your dressing rooms?
Jesse: Well, I usually bring a ball; Frankie and I usually throw a
ball around. Most people warm up by like, stretching and stuff, we just go
play sports, or we go work out before we get on stage, we usually bring some
weights backstage and we lift and stuff. I have fruit roll ups backstage
though.
Girly Nation: Fruit Roll Ups, What Flavor?
Jesse: Strawberry |
