"I wash
my face twice a day with aproduct that says it will keep my skin oil-free.
I only wear lip gloss and eye makeup, but for some reason my skin is always
oily. What over-the-counter products can I use to control my oily
skin?"

"I would recommend a double
cleansing at night - first an oil-based (perhaps creamy or gel like) to remove
any remaining makeup and the oil soluble dirt - after cleansing with the
oil based cleanser, immediately follow up with a soapy type non-stripping
cleanser that will remove any remaining oil soluble dirt and all water soluble
dirt as well. Your face should be really clean and the toner should not be
able to remove any further dirt. In the morning, you just need a very light
soapy wash (not necessarily a stripping wash). You need to follow with a
toner (not astringent) and a light moisturizer. If you don't moisturize your
skin will demand moisture and immediately start to produce more
oil." |
