"I have
read that toners exfoliate, but I have also read that scrubs exfoliate. Which
am I supposed to
use?"

"There is a great deal of
misinformation and misunderstanding as to toners. Three items are often confused
- toners, astringents and fresheners. Toners are not an exfoliant but, if
a true toner, it is a pre-moisturizer and very important in enabling your
moisturizer to do a more effective job. In the case of Pola - their toners
are always premoisturizers. An astringent is a product heavily loaded with
alcohol but oftentimes referred to as a toner. A Freshener is just that -
it freshens - for a midday pickup or when you need to do a quick makeover
or remove residue from other skincare products like a massage cream or mask
for instance. Scrubs do exfoliate in most instances. Be very careful with
scrubs as you do not want them to scratch your skin - look at the package
to see if the grains are spherical. (Check out the Pola Plenna Pure Moist
Lotion which is a toner and premoisturizer - the Pola Soins Enzyme Deep Cleaning
is an exfoliator - the Pola Plenna Massaging and Mask is a good
mask)." |
