want to overdo their look. Stephanie Botner, a freelancer for Stila
Cosmetics, helped us make this guide to applying makeup that looks healthy,
fresh, and young.
Step 1: Smooth
Skin

Start out with clean,
moisturized skin. If you need to even out your skin tone, apply a small amount
of sheer, dewy foundation to your t-zone (forehead, nose, chin) and move
out to cheeks. Blend well. Lightly apply powder only if your skin looks
oily. |

Step 2: Natural

Next, give yourself a flash
of color for a flushed spring look. Apply a rose or peach gel-based blush
upward from the apple of the cheek up to the cheekbone underneath the outer
corner of the eye. For an all-over flushed look, swipe the blusher lightly
across the top edge of the forehead, down the center of the nose, and on
the chin. Blend with your fingers. |

Step 3: Neutral
Eyes

For shimmery, neutral eyes
use a thick eye lining pencil that can double as a shadow. Draw a shimmery
light brown all over the lid. Add a shimmery dark brown on the lower part
of the lid. Lightly line the upper lashes with a brown eyeliner. Blend eyes
with your fingertip so that color looks deep at the lashes and gets more
subtle up to the browbone. Apply one stroke of mascara to
lashes. |

Step 4: Kissable

For lips that look soft
and kissable, lightly apply a soft pink or peach shade. Rub your lips together
and blend well. If the color is too strong, blot with a tissue. This will
lighten your lips and given you a shimmery 'angelic' look. If you're into
super glossy lips, you can add extra shine by using a thicker lip gloss,
in a translucent peach or pink. |
