HOW TO...APPLY MAKEUP TO
FACE
step
one...
exfoliate &
cleanse
The first step is to cleanse your face! Keep it
simple - toners and astringents are typically not needed. Just use a cream
or soap cleanser to get rid of the dirt, oil, and sweat on your face. Make
sure to rinse it all off with lukewarm water so there is no residue left
on your face. Next, exfoliation will slough off all the dead skin cells and
little dry flakes that make your skin look dull and less polished (and clog
your pores). It will smooth your skin so makeup will glide on more easily
and look more natural. Just make sure you don't rub too hard or you'll irritate
the skin! You can use your exfoliating scrub every day if it's one of
the gentle types, but if you use of the stronger types then only use it once
or twice a week (check the directions on the package to be sure). If
you don't have an exfoliation product, you can use a washcloth on your
face while cleansing to get close to the same effect.
