Voluminous hair in! Check
out the picture to the right (from the Cynthia Rowley Fall '00 / Winter '01
fashion show). After washing with a clarifying shampoo and light conditioner,
wrap your hair with a towel for a few minutes (scrunching your hair with
a towel makes it frizzy and can cause flyaways). Spritz roots with a thickening
spray, and blow dry hair (if your hair doesn't hold body well, use some mousse
before you start blowdrying). While blowdrying, keep tossing your hair up
using your hand, or just blowdry it while your head is flipped upside-down.
To make sure your hair stays up all day, rub some hair mud on your hands
and fluff your hair with it. This looks great with short hair, but long hair
can still get the look. When blowdrying, lift your roots up (or just flip
your head over while blowdrying). With long hair, you'll want to use more
products that are slightly drying (like hairspray) instead of products that
are slightly conditioning (like
mousse).
